Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 10 Issue 25 Review With Spoilers

Warning Of Spoilers!

This issue's twist ending raises a lot of interesting questions and possibilities, except it is poorly set-up. I mean the Anya ghost was established as working for the female demon of the evil trio, but now she never was working for them. Ugh! Also D'Hoffryn has not appeared enough, or even been established as to what his powers actually entail, to be given the season's Big Bad title. While hints of him wanting the magic rule book have been in the series before they have been pretty good reasons.

There is also the problem that Buffy and the rest of the main cast continue to help a lot of the Big Bads. This problem actually goes all the way back to Season 1 of BTVS with Buffy going to face the Master. If these characters are failing to learn from their mistakes and better stories are being done in fan fictions maybe the franchise should end with the next season. Though I would prefer this franchise to continue with actual character development and logical stories.

Finally the issue did have some good points: It is entertaining on a surface level, brilliantly colored, nicely drawn, fine in terms of lettering, and okay on pacing.

My verdict: Not recommended as a single issue. Maybe worth getting in a digital bundle or physical collected format.
