Alabaster: The Good, The Bad, And The Bird Issue 2 Review With Spoilers

Warning Of Spoilers!

If this were the late 1980s to around mid-1990s we would be probably be seeing this title at Vertigo. However, this is now and Dark Horse has published a butt-kicking horror title for mature readers. Kudos goes to Caitlin Kieran, Daniel Warren Johnson, plus the rest of the credited pros for bringing their best skill level for this work. In fact the writing is like a weird original down-to-earth horror title the likes of which has not been seen since Hellblazer ended. As for the colors and art they are in a style that reminds me of certain pages from Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Especially during the opening scenes and the bit where the talking bird bites the con artist protagonist's beautifully drawn foot.
