Generation Zero Issue 5 Review With Spoilers

Warning Of Spoilers!

I keep trying to enjoy this series, and there are certain bits that are quality material, but it keeps failing. Take for example the sudden death that happens in this issue and how we have not been given enough character development for why it happens. Also I personally was underwhelmed by the death due to two other factors. The first is that the laser sight is focused on someone besides the sheriff's daughter, yet she is the one the now dead character saved. Secondly the characters react how one would expect and then they suddenly curveball to reacting blasé.

Another problem I have is that the projection of Kwame says he is in pain. However, if this is true than why is Kwame, an autistic, reacting calmly to negative sensation and uncertainty. He should be having a meltdown of epic proportions and just be screaming. If he is a psiot and the projection is his power having activated than we have too many characters with projection related powers.

Finally the pacing and plot are a mess. The best example of this is the scene where the mayor trys to grab a seemingly random flash drive from his daughter.

   Not recommended!
