This Damned Band Issue 5 Review With Spoilers

Warning Of Spoilers!

The cover by Tony Parker & Lovern Kindzierski is excellent in line work, design, and the potential it suggests for the interiors. However, the interiors are a disappoint. This is mainly because the main characters (the band) are still the supporting characters. It is like if the series Buffy The Vampire Slayer had every episode focus mostly on Willow versus Buffy. In other words if a character or group is referenced in the title of a work than we should be following them.

As for the art, coloring, and lettering they are rendered merely serviceable in quality standards due to a horrible script. I say Paul Cornell's script is horrible due to the out of nowhere twist of a band member being the "main" villain. Yes, the devil imagery is cool when Satan shows up, but there is no foreshadowing that any member of the band was going to be a villain.

   Not recommended.
