99 Assassins Unleash Hell Issue 1 Review With Spoilers

Warning Of Spoilers!

This issue may not appear to be so but it is issue 1 of an ongoing series. It combines the art formats of comic books with mini-posters and QR coded animation. The art for both the comic and the animation is very heavily detailed. The story feels very abrupt at the moment, so if this had been a one-shot it would not work. However, we will be learning more about the story as it goes through the other 99 assassins and thus I feel it works well enough. Finally the animation is dynamic and detailed as well as being short in length, thus there is a lot gained from picking up this issue.

Recommended for those who can buy Teen Plus comics and/or like brutal supernatural feudal Japan stories.

Available in Missouri at Starclipper, Wizard Wagon, Subculture and Heroic Age. Coming soon to certain stores in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Portland, and San Francisco.

Disclaimer: I gain no profit from this review and admit to having a tangential connection to Chris Sagovac. He was my teacher in a comic book creation course at Webster University when I was finishing my undergrad years.
