Hillbilly Issue 1 Review With Spoilers

Warning Of Spoilers!

This is a more serious Eric Powell story in that while it has absurd/fantastical elements it has a realistic level of grimness. Also the story plays with narration (both reliable and unreliable) and exposition while showing actions to the reader in just the right way. As for the art there is some interesting use of shading to provide a difference in the tales that are told. Finally there are enough questions to leave a lot of readers wanting to see what happens after this issue.

   Very recommended!
